What are all the pick-up trucks doing parked at the Guvvy’s tonight?
I couldn’t resist, so I drove right in, and asked a Commissionaire, “What’s up?”
“Vancouver Island Construction Association Reception,” he said.
“What’s on the agenda?” I persisted.
“A cocktail party…” he admitted.
“Oh, that’s great, and at public expense, no doubt.”
“No, not at public expense” he insisted.
“Oh, no, of course not!” I yelled out the window as I drove off in disgust.
The cops should do something useful tonight and should really be stationed at the Rockland gates to the Guvvy grounds, so that as the drunk builders try to drive off the property, they are given a breathalyzer test.
